Founded in 1987, the Hancock Park School Booster Club is a nonprofit organization of parent volunteers who raise money and organize activities to benefit the children of our school. We have an annual operating budget of over $150,000, which allows us to round out the school program and fill in the funding gaps left by Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).
Here's a sampling of what we provide:
- School Improvements: Art Patio, Bungalow Garden, Welcome Gate Garden, Play Structure, Murals, Auditorium Renovation, Library Renovation
- Salaries: Classroom, Before and after school library aides, Choral Director, Math Consultant, Testing Coordinator
- Computer Lab Equipment, Software, Maintenance
- Maintenance: Copiers, paper supplies, Library Books, Emergency Supplies
- Extracurricular: Field trips, Fifth Grade Culmination, Performances, Playground equipment
Our goals for the 2008/2009 school year are:
- Add an additional play structure to the primary yard
- Purchase classroom laptops and projectors (technology upgrade)
- Replace old benches with new benches throughout campus
- Build a physical education program
- Renovate the interior of the cafeteria and the adjacent teacher's lounge
