About Us

side viewHancock Park School is a naturally integrated, urban neighborhood school dedicated to nurturing the whole child. Located in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles, our school has a diverse student population in terms of ethnicity, language, socio-economic status, and learning needs. Our mission is to build a strong academic foundation, inspire life-long learning, promote an understanding and appreciation of oneself and others, and provide a safe child-centered environment.

Hancock Park Elementary School is located at 408 S. Fairfax Avenue and is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District.  Established in 1937, the school services the residential community from Crescent Heights to La Brea and from Wilshire to Beverly Blvds.

Most of our 719 students live in apartment dwellings and the student population is classified as PHBAO with 54% Asian (largely Korean), 25% Caucasian, 10% African-American, 9% Latino and 1% Filipino students.  In addition, 29% of the students are English Language Learners and 15% are considered to be living under the poverty level.

Hancock Park School would like to thank Andre's Italian Restaurant for their on going support of our school. For every bottle of salad dressing and sauce that they sell, 25 cents is donated to our school! Andre's also donates the full amount of their t-shirt sales to the school as well as hosting family nights at the restaurant.
