The Booster Club encourages all parents to participate in school functions and do their part in improving their child's education. Several projects are ongoing and planned for this year.

Library Committee
Chair: Angie Klimeck Goal: Raise at least $5,000 a year for new library books and supplies Sub-committees:
- Annual Scholastic Book Fair (first week of November)
- Book Fair Family Night (Wed evening of Book Fair)
- Birthday Books – $20.00 donation buys a book in your child’s name
- Library maintenance – volunteers needed to reshelve library books

Box Tops
Chair: Jessica T. Goal: Have families save “Box Top” coupons for twice a year collection. Create promotion, collect coupons and send for reimbursement.

Carnival
Chair: Shari Cooper Goal: Raise $10,000 during the annual school carnival with game booths, prizes, inflatables, dunk booth, cake walk, arts and crafts and BBQ (Korean and American). Sub-committees:
- Food – Korean and American BBQ, sno cones, ice cream, fruit, drinks
- Games –assemble and decorate custom booths and games
- Arts and Crafts – assist children in various arts and crafts
- Prizes – purchase and manage prize booth
- Cake Walk – recruit bakers, baked goods and manage game
- Dunk Booth – for 5th grade only
- Inflatables – order and manage inflatables
- Entertainment – MC event and coordinate activities
- Volunteers – coordinate with local high schools for volunteers

Silent Auction/Holiday Party

eBay Auction
Chair: Needed Goal: Collect entertainment memorabilia, collectibles, and opportunities from our internal celebrity network of friends for auction worldwide. Auction service provided by Giving Engine.

Family Nights Out
Chair: Needed Organize monthly family nights at various local restaurants for a 20% of proceeds return.

Gift Wrap Sales
Chair: ______________, Tracy Balsz (advisor) Students go door-to-door to sell holiday gift wrap, chocolates and gifts from Innisbrook giftwrap. Coordinate delivery of catalogs, kid’s assembly, online ordering so management is a breeze, final delivery of boxed items in November.

Grocery Cards/SCRIP
Chair: Needed Research rebate offers from various stores including Ralphs and Vons. Disseminate promotional info and sign-up instructions.

T-Shirts
Chair: Maggie Crispin Collect orders and print school tshirts and run end of year design contest.

Bake Sale (100th Day/Pi Day)
Chair: Betty Krul Cakes, cookies, cupcakes, pies, breads, and sweet delectibles needed. Don your cooking aprons and donate fresh baked goods, or open you pocket books to contribute to this twice a year fundraising event.

Pledge Drive
Chair: Jessica Dabney Largest and most important fundraiser of the year – collect family donations for a goal of $100,000. Occurs in September with a “renew your pledge” in January.

Booster Club Bulletin Board
Chair: Needed Manage the installation of memos, notices, flyers, etc. in the glass bulletin board at the welcome gate.

Champions/Coach Liaison
Chair: Needed Delegate needed to communicate any information between Beyond the Bell and the afterschool Enrichment program provider Champions USA.

Goodwill/Appreciation
Chair: Needed This position works with the social committee and the officers to send out thank you cards and emails to event volunteers, corporate donors and community partners.

Korean PTA Liaison
Chair: Needed This position is the intermediary between the Korean PTA and the Booster Club and helps to have translations prepared of all correspondence.

Photocopies/Signs/Banners
Chair: Needed Helps to print flyers, distribute to classrooms, create and post banners regarding school activities and events

Publicity
Chair: Needed Write press releases and contact local press regarding school activities.

Room Parent Coordinator
Chair: Cindy Kaufen Organize the room parents from each classroom, have group meetings and design an email/phone tree to disseminate Booster Club information and action items to the parents in the classroom.

Chair: Susan Brin Collect parent contact information forms (online sign-ups!), prepare directory layout using Publish software or similar, sell ads, coordinate printing and distribution (Oct)

Beautification / Gardening
Co-Chair: _____________ Co-Chair: Angie Klimeck This is a very important committee for Hancock Park School. The Booster Club is solely responsible for the planting of all trees, flowers, plants and the maintenance of all gardens. Many gardens need to be watered by hand, continuously nurtured and loved. Over the past years we have created a beautiful environment and we need to keep it going. If you have a green thumb, or want to learn, we welcome all volunteers.

Classroom Clean-Up Day
Chair: Needed Occurs on a Saturday in Feb/March. Create flyer, schedule with Plant Manager, purchase refreshments, order supplies and manage this family participation classroom clean-up day.

Graduation
Chair: Needed Plan and organize the activities involved with 5th grade graduation including fundraising, tile wall, tshirts, class picnic, ceremony, etc. Need 4th grade parents to shadow.

Library
Chair: Angie Klimeck Assist school librarian in purchasing books and supplies, clean and reshelve books, assist with Birthday Book Fundraiser, help organize and run the annual Scholastic Book Fair and Family Night, and be available as needed on special projects.

Playground
Chair: Needed Help continue the install of the second playstructure, organize painting day (to paint benches), keep the playground clean (trash pick-up activities), order supplies as needed for recess/afterschool/PE.

Presentations/Star Gazing Night
Chair: Needed Organize school presentations using outside entities, search for grants or free performances. Organize Stargazing Night (pushed back from 2008-2009 school year) which brings powerful telescopes and class presentations on the solar system for a fun-filled evening activity.

Social Committee
Chair: Needed We need a strong chairperson for this committee as we always get many volunteers. Here is a list of some of the activities – they change every year. We are very fortunate to have use of the beautiful Arts Patio which makes entertaining a breeze.
- Kinder Meet and Greet – Refreshments for annual Kinder event held last Sat of Aug from 10A-11A.
- Teachers first day back – organize coffee and pastries
- Teacher’s Kitchen – keep the shelves stock throughout the year with coffees/teas/supplies
- Teachers Break Room – keep the room supplied with magazines and flowers
- Holiday Staff Appreciation – help to organize a breakfast or lunch during December
- Teacher Appreciation Week – help to organize a breakfast or lunch during this week in May
- Volunteer luncheon – help the teacher committee to put on this annual event in June
- Chorus/Orchestra performance – provide refreshments for students and parents of these events

Technology Liaison
Representative needed to work with the teachers technology committee and the school principal in making sure we are meeting our commitments in maintaining and helping to purchase technology equipment for the Computer Lab and individual classrooms.

Wonder Of Reading
Chair: Jill Aaron O’Brien Hancock Park School is committed to the Wonder of Reading non-profit organization, who is responsible for renovating our school library to what it is today. The Wonder of Reading program encourages community members to volunteer at their local schools to read with children that may need extra encouragement. We need a coordinator and volunteers for this very valuable program.

K Kindergarten Yard (Kinder)
Mentor: Teresa Feldman All Kinder parents are encouraged to form a committee to help maintain the designated Kindergarten play yard. Gardening, cleaning and purchasing equipment/supplies as needed. This is an excellent way to transition into becoming an active parent.

1st Valet Drop-Off (First Grade)
Mentor: Ms. Ashley Parker All parents are welcome to join in this very important service of providing a safe drop-off environment for children coming to school. A dedicated captain is needed to set up and take down the cones and signs indicating the one-way traffic lane each morning on Colgate; and to organize by class and month first grade parent volunteers. Volunteers are needed to help children from cars safely to the sidewalk and assist drivers in following the one-way drop off policy procedures.

2nd Library (2nd Grade)
Mentor: Angie Klimeck Volunteers are needed almost daily to help Ms. Patti, the school librarian, re-shelve library books (700 per week) and to keep the library organized. This is a easy 15-minute job by a volunteer.

3rd Campus Clean-up (3rd Grade)
Mentor: Needed Volunteers needed to pick-up trash around campus. A captain is needed to coordinate a schedule for weekly clean-up duties. Clothing, lunch boxes and other items accumulate quickly you will be responsible for managing the lost and found rack which gets sent to the Goodwill on a regular basis.

4th Recycling (4th Grade)
Mentor: Susan Brin Hancock Park School prides itself on its sustainability and green practices, and fourth grade has become the leader of this cause. Volunteers needed to work with teachers to encourage paper and plastic bottle recycling. Whole Foods partnered with our school last year and contributed $.05 for each bottle deposited in their GreenOps machine in front of the store.

5th Fundraising (for graduation)
Mentors: Doreen Monroe/Shermay Barnes Help teach students how to earn their own money and raise the $4,000 needed to pay for their graduation activities. Jamba Juice/Pizza Sales, bakesales, ice cream sales, etc.
