There are many changes to expect with the budget cuts for the next school year including increased class size, the loss of teachers, and a change to our school’s administrative staff. We don’t know exactly what to expect but just know that the Booster Club officers promise to be the liaison on behalf of the parents providing necessities and support to keep Hancock Park School the distinguished school it is. We are overjoyed that Mrs. Ashley Parker will be moving up into the Principal’s position as we say farewell to Dr. Perez, who will be very much missed. Please prepare now, in advance, for the start of school in September and the annual Pledge Drive. With the statewide budget cuts, we are expecting a big loss of funding to the schools, so we are going to be asking more of families this coming year, with a suggested donation of $500 per child. You do realize that every parent is a member of the Booster Club and we invite you to join us as an active member by volunteering. A list of committees and projects can be found on the website. Please take a look and think about how you may want to contribute next year. The more parents we have helping, the more we can accomplish! On behalf of the Booster Club officers and volunteers, we wish you a wonderful, safe, relaxing summer break and we look forward to seeing you in September. Farewell to our departing Booster Club officers John Ahn, Francine Kennedy and Beth Libowsky – thank you for your dedication. We have plenty of slots open for 2009-2010 officer positions and committee chairs – sign-up at our first meeting Wed. 9/16! Tracy Balsz Booster Club President 2008-2009 |
