A dynamic educational approach that contextualizes mathematics by encouraging critical thinking, leveraging student's intuitive understanding, and promoting a deeper grasp of mathematical concepts.

Writers Workshop

The Writers Workshop moves away from rigid, formulaic instruction, instead embracing a student-centered environment that fosters creativity and agency. Students learn traditional skills and concepts in the writing process, learning to grow as creative writers across all genres.

Testimonials

"I like Hancock Park Elementary School because we get to make new friends everyday.  We play games like chess and capture the flag.  We make fossils and we get to learn more and more everyday."

-Samuel, 2nd grade

"I started as an educator at Hancock Park more than 20 years ago, and immediately fell in love with the diverse and supportive community. As I developed as an educator, my own children attended our school, and I was afforded the opportunity to see the excellence of arts and academics from both angles. I really can’t imagine working at any other school."

-Laura Palacios, 3rd grade teacher

"At Hancock Park Elementary, I love how all of the students, teachers, and coaches are all so kind.  I also love how teachers here make learning fun for students.  They always hype us up into doing fun things!  That goes for the for coaches too.

I love how they keep us safe and talk to us like parents.  I love Hancock Park.

My favorite thing about Hancock Park is how everyone works so hard to keep the school safe, and for us students to get good supplies and things.

I am very thankful for all those who keep us comfy in this school.  Hancock Park has affected me into changing into a better person.  I have learned to be kind and respectful.  REKS rules!"

-Yoyo, 4th grader
